Northern Michigan Regional Hospital (NMRH) has been sponsoring continuing medical education activities since 1977. In March of 2008, we attained Reaccreditation with Commendation, receiving six years reaccreditation status from the Michigan State Medical Society Committee on Accreditation in accordance with Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). We achieved exemplary status in all of the accreditation elements. “Accreditation with Commendation” is the highest rating available for a CME provider. In addition to providing continuing medical education credits, Northern Michigan Regional Hospital is also an approved provider of continuing nursing education and radiology technology continuing education.

Continuing Medical Education (CME) activities are provided to our medical and surgical staff and multidisciplinary audiences. Most CME topics are relevant to the clinical practice and should reinforce clinical decisions, to learn new information related to their clinical practice and to translate that knowledge into improved patient care.

Because time is a precious commodity, our goal is to provide physicians easy access to CME activities, information, NMRH CME transcripts, and registration online services. NMRH’s CME activities draw upon the expertise of local, state, and national professionals, with an emphasis on providing information relative to patient populations in northern Michigan. The face-to-face interaction with local professionals allows for easy consultations and creates opportunities to become acquainted with physicians to whom you might make a referral for specialized treatment.

Northern Michigan Regional Hospital is accredited by the Michigan State Medical Society Committee on CME Accreditation to provide continuing medical education for physicians and designate educational activities for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.
