Reezie DeVet, RN, EdD President & CEO
Reezie DeVet, RN, EdD, joined Northern Michigan Regional Hospital in November 2003 as Vice President and Chief Nurse Executive. She was promoted to Chief Operating Officer in August 2006 and was named President and CEO in December 2009. A former hospital consultant, community hospital administrator, and nursing instructor, Reezie most recently served as a Senior Manager at Cap Gemini Ernst & Young.
Previously, Reezie was Corporate Vice President of Clinical Integration and Chief Nursing Officer for Holland Community Hospital in Holland, Michigan. Prior to her nine years at Holland Community Hospital, she worked as Senior Manager and Director of Clinical Consulting Services for West Michigan for Ernst & Young in Grand Rapids.
In addition to holding a number of teaching positions, Reezie has served in various posts as a practicing nurse, hospital administrator and consultant at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo; Care Communications, Inc. in Chicago; and, Blodgett Memorial Medical Center in Grand Rapids.
Reezie earned her ADN at Delta College in University Center, a BSN at Nazareth College in Kalamazoo, an MSN at Andrews University in Berrien Springs and an EdD from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo.
Reezie received the prestigious Nightingale Award from Northern Michigan Regional Hospital nurses in 2005. She currently serves as Chair of the Petoskey Regional Chamber of Commerce Board of Trustees. |

Mary-Anne D. Ponti, RN, MSN, MBA, CNAA-BC Chief Operating Officer & Chief Nurse Executive
Mary-Anne Ponti joined Northern Michigan Regional Hospital in January 2007 as Vice President of Nursing and Chief Nurse Executive. She was promoted to the dual role of Chief Operating Officer and Chief Nurse Executive in December 2009. As Chief Operating Officer, she is responsible for the overall success of the operations of Northern Michigan Regional Hospital. As Chief Nurse Executive she has Hospital-wide accountability and authority for nursing. She serves as a strong advocate for patient care throughout the organization.
Prior to joining Northern Michigan Regional Hospital, Mary-Anne spent 10 years in the State of Maine in executive positions with leadership responsibility and authority for nursing, clinical, and support services. She has actively participated in organizational strategic planning efforts, state, and Joint Commission compliance and technology advancement. She has been instrumental in instituting system-wide performance improvement initiatives, including the initiation of the American Nurses Credentialing Center Magnet Recognition Journey at Northern Michigan Regional Hospital. She currently serves as a member of the Board of The American Organization of Nurse Executives and American Hospital Association Regional Policy Board.
Mary-Anne has been active in Maine’s Hospital Association and Organization of Nurse Executives, as well as the Maine’s Hospital Licensing Review Board. She holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Vermont and master’s degrees in nursing from Russell Sage College in Troy, New York. In addition, she holds a master’s of business administration from Thomas College in Waterville, Maine. |

Moon Seagren Chief Development Officer & Foundation Executive Director
Moon Seagren joined Northern Michigan Regional Hospital in January 2007 as Chief Development Officer of the Northern Michigan Regional Hospital Foundation. She provides overall philanthropic activity, leadership, and management of the Northern Michigan Regional Hospital Foundation.
Moon has over 26 years of professional fundraising experience. As the Director of Annual Giving at Michigan State University Development Fund, Moon designed and implemented the first fund development automated telemarketing and mail center in the country. After seven years with Michigan State, Moon was hired by John Grenzebach and Associates out of Chicago to implement fundraising programs in hospitals and universities throughout the United States. Moon moved to Petoskey and served as Executive Director to Northern Michigan Regional Hospital Foundation for over nine years. Prior to her return to the Hospital, Moon was a fundraising consultant for local non-profits.
Moon has been active in Rotary of Petoskey and is a volunteer teacher for Junior Achievement and Junior Great Books. Moon has been an active member in The Association for Hospital Philanthropy for 18 years. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications from Western Michigan University and a master’s degree in Business Communications from Michigan State University. |

Guy Golembiewski, MD Interim Vice President of Medical Affairs & Medical Director, Care Management and Informatics
Dr. Guy Golembiewski is the Interim Vice President of Medical Affairs, beginning February 15, 2010.
Dr. Guy will remain as Medical Director, Care Management and Informatics, allowing him to continue his role as a key driver in the implementation and expansion of our Electronic Medical Record.
Prior to joining Northern Michigan Regional Hospital in 2004, Dr. Guy was the Medical Director of the Emmet County Jail and has practiced both family and emergency medicine. He received his medical degree from the Ohio State University College of Medicine, completing his post-graduate training at the University of Washington in Seattle.

Timothy Jodway Vice President of Finance & Chief Financial Officer
Timothy Jodway joined Northern Michigan Regional Hospital as its Controller in October 2004 from Lapeer Regional Hospital in Lapeer, Michigan, where he began serving as the hospital’s Chief Financial Officer in 1999. While in that position, Tim made a number of improvements from designing and implementing new productivity measurement tools to evaluating and improving the payroll and billing systems, as well as the budget process. He was promoted to Chief Financial Officer of Northern Michigan Regional Hospital in February 2005.
Prior to his assuming his current position, Tim was Manager, Operations Finance for McLaren Health Care Corporation in Flint, Michigan. Previously, Tim was Director, Budget and Reimbursement for North Oakland Medical Centers in Pontiac, Michigan.
After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Michigan State University, Tim joined Deloitte & Touche LLP in Detroit. During the next seven years, he held increasingly responsible audit positions and served a number of healthcare providers, ranging from 150-bed rural hospitals to multi-state systems with more than $1 billion in assets.
Tim is a Certified Public Accountant and has served as a board member and the treasurer of the Christian Family Services of Lapeer County. He also serves on the boards of Northern Health Plan and Alcona Health Center. |

Eugene Kaminski, MBA Vice President Human Resources
Eugene Kaminski joined Northern Michigan Regional Hospital as Vice President of Human Resources in January 2003. His responsibilities include labor/employee relations, compensation and benefits, employment, the center for creative learning, medical library, volunteer services, gift shop, and the Benjamin B. Blum Hospitality House.
Prior to joining Northern Michigan Regional Hospital, Gene was a Senior Vice President at Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital Medical Center in Pontiac, Michigan, a 308-bed acute care hospital now affiliated with McLaren Health System. Previously, he worked at Children’s Hospital of Michigan in the Detroit Medical Center and Beaumont Hospitals in Oakland County, where he served in progressively more responsible human resources management positions.
Gene earned a master’s in business management from Central Michigan University, a bachelor’s degree in social science from Michigan State University and an associate’s degree in law enforcement and administration from Oakland Community College.
Serving as an adjunct professor, he has taught organizational behavior, human resources management, and supervision and management at Davenport University in Warren, Michigan.
Gene previously received the “Distinguished Past President Award” from Kiwanis Detroit Number 1 Club and was a recipient of the 2005 Northern Michigan Regional Hospital President’s Award. He currently serves as President of the Harbor Springs Kiwanis Club. |

Barbara Berry, MA Senior Director of Planning & Marketing
Barbara Berry joined Northern Michigan Regional Hospital in August of 2004 as Director of Planning and Marketing. She has responsibility for coordination of the Strategic Planning efforts, Marketing, Communications, and Business Development activities. Other duties include oversight of Physician Liaisons and Community Health & Wellness programs.
Previously, Barb has served as Vice President of Planning and Advocacy for Memorial Hospital in Owosso, Michigan; Director of Regional Network Services for the Sparrow Health System in Lansing, Michigan; and Vice President of Business Development for McLaren Health System in Flint, Michigan. Additionally, Barb has served as manager for the national healthcare consulting practice of Ernst & Young, LLP, in the late 1990’s.
Barb has been active in both the Michigan Society for Healthcare Planning and Marketing, as well as the AHA Society of Healthcare Strategy & Market Development. Barb holds both a BS and MA from Michigan State University. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Harbor Springs Area Chamber of Commerce. |

Jennifer Woods, RN, BSN Senior Director Acute Patient Care Services
Jennifer Woods, RN, BSN is Senior Director of Acute Patient Care Services. Jennifer has been with Northern Michigan Regional Hospital since July 1999. For the past four years, she has been the Nurse Manager for Ambulatory Care and Endoscopy. In June 2008, she also assumed responsibility for PACU.
Jennifer received her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Ohio State University. She is currently a Masters candidate at Walden University.
Throughout her career she has been a staff nurse, Team Leader, Clinical Supervisor and Nurse Manager. Her clinical background includes Neurosurgical ICU, Radiology, UroSurgery Clinic and Endoscopy.
Jennifer is a member of the Senior Executive Team with accountability for Acute Patient Care Services. This includes Staffing/SWAT and Transport, Behavioral Services, Woman & Children’s, Emergency Department, Renal, Intensive Care Unit, Cardiovascular Unit, Medical/Surgical Unit, Orthopaedics, Neurology & Urology, and Oncology. |

Colleen Allen, RN, MSN Senior Director of Performance Improvement & Patient Safety
Colleen Allen joined Northern Michigan Regional Hospital in January 2008 as Director of Performance Improvement and Patient Safety. She is a registered nurse and holds a Master's degree in Business Administration. Her clinical experience includes ICU, CCU, Emergency Department and Medical Surgical nursing. Colleen comes to Northern Michigan Regional Hospital from The Ohio State University Medical Center where she was a member of the executive team for 8 1/2 years. During her tenure, she was responsible for performance improvement, patient safety, care management, peer review, and accreditation. Other responsibilities included medical staff support, infection control, and clinical guideline development. One key accomplishment was improving revenue capture in the outpatient setting through intradisciplinary team contributions and changed processes. The focus was on designing a system to do the right things at the very beginning of the encounter leading to a turnaround in quality of service and financial health. This effort was recognized as best practice, published by the Advisory Board and adopted nationally by many organizations.
Her experience also includes leadership positions in community hospitals where she guided quality improvement efforts and care path development. The outcome of these efforts lead to national recognition of best practice and improved patient and organizational outcomes.
Colleen assisted a private, multi-state healthcare organization pursue operational excellence through the use of Baldrige criteria. Colleen has published articles and spoken nationally on topics of operational excellence, efficiency, and data transformation. She is a champion of operational excellence and sustainability.
She has been the Chair of national consortium of comprehensive cancer centers quality directors. She has been a member of the Best Practice Committee for the National Comprehensive Cancer Center Network. She is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality. Colleen is a member of the Value Health Partner Quality Leadership committee, the Quality Committee for Hospice of Little Traverse Bay, and the VHA Central Leadership Council. |

Mark Gray Chief Information Officer
Mark Gray joined Northern Michigan Regional Hospital in March 2005 as Chief Information Officer. Prior to joining Northern Michigan Regional Hospital, Mark served as account executive for the Information Technology (IT) outsourcing firms of Caretech Solutions and Siemens Information and Communications Networks. In addition, Mark previously served as Director of Information Technology for Henry Ford Health System in Detroit.
At Caretech Solutions, Mark played a major role securing a $10M annual outsourcing agreement with Mount Clemens General and with Siemens. Mark secured and subsequently managed a $25M annual outsourcing agreement with Henry Ford Health System.
Mark began his healthcare IT career in 1983 at Henry Ford Health System in Detroit. He also worked as Manager of Systems and Programming for Horizon Health System in Southfield, Michigan. Prior to his healthcare career, Mark was instrumental in the development of an overseas communication network and the implementation of a worldwide engineering and manufacturing system at Ford Tractor Operations in Troy, Michigan.
Mark earned his bachelor of science in business administration degree (Cum Laude) from the University of Detroit Mercy. He serves as a board member for the Char-Em United Way and also serves on the Occupational Advisory Boards for North Central Michigan College and Petoskey Public Schools.
Mark was the recipient of the 2006 Northern Michigan Regional Hospital Leadership Award. |
